Renovation Projects
Renovation makes so much sense for so many. Perhaps you still love your neighborhood, still love your home, but feel the need for a fresh start, a new beginning.
The expert team at Gord Turner Renovations is ready to guide you through the renovation process, whether you’re looking to update a single room or your whole home, inside and out.
Although it is a common perception that it’s necessary to obtain 3 quotes prior to hiring a renovator, it is more important to determine that the quote you receive encompasses all the details of the renovation.
In order for you to make an informed choice, renovation quotes need to be similar in the details; otherwise, you could choose a lesser quote but end up paying more in the end as not all items were initially accounted for. There are many questions to be answered and your renovation quote should reflect those.
There is value in paying someone for the time involved in putting together a comprehensive, written agreement/quote. This agreement will address the finer points of the renovation itself and will take some time and effort to produce more accurate figures based on your wants, needs, and budget in mind.
People tend to fear giving a contractor an idea of their budget because they feel the contractor will do whatever it takes to deplete that budget. That is not how we operate. We are in the business of helping you make the right renovation choices, based on solid information, so you achieve a renovation that you love.
If you would like to see if we are a good fit for you and your project, call us for an appointment. Gord will be happy to meet with you at your home and discuss your goals with you. At this meeting, you will gain an understanding of the process involved and if you’re ready to move forward, we can come up with a plan to accomplish what you are looking for.
We also provide you with a client referral listing and encourage you to go take a look at our work. Our clients are happy to show you their completed project and can answer questions for you. It’s one of the best ways for you to get to know our work.
Gord will identify the next steps that need to be taken. If design/drawings are required, you will be asked to sign our Design Agreement and provide a deposit in relation to the work involved. Our estimating process is comprehensive and detailed. Once a plan is completed and you sign a renovation agreement, a deposit (prior to construction) is required, not only to secure your place on our project scheduling board, but to cover any vendor deposit requests for items such as hardwood, cabinets, mechanical, countertops.
The length of your renovation depends upon things like the size of the project, any changes to the original scope of work as requested by the client, weather (if exterior work is being done), the team’s schedule etc. We will discuss approximate renovation timelines and schedules with you. At this time, it also assists us to know if you have a tentative deadline in mind, based on you/your family – for example, you’re going away on vacation at an important stage of the renovation, you have company coming for a visit, etc.
Choosing the products and finishes to be used in your home is an exciting part of the process but we do understand, it can also be overwhelming. To help you through this, we have an experienced Client Services team and our Kelowna Renovation Design Centre, showcasing various selections available, to you.
Your selections for the renovation will have an impact on your overall budget, so with that in mind, we will walk you through the entire process, providing you with the information you need to make the best decision for the application as well as for your renovation project.
